Me: I knew it. Harriet is the Mysterious Mademoiselle.
Nell: Of course she is. Who else could it be?
Me: I was worried it might be Lady Anwen.
Nell: She’s at the bus stop again with her beret-wearing friend.
Me: Wretched animal.
Nell: They never actually get on a bus.
Me: Can Harriet speak French?
Nell: Yes. Not as fluently as me but then I lived in Paris.
Me: Are there going to be any more reveals, or is this the full cast?
Nell: Why?
Me: I wondered if I might have a role in the film.
Nell: You didn’t even audition.
Me: No.
Nell: Has The Cat given you a costume?
Me: No.
Nell: Do you speak French?
Me: No, but I speak German.
Nell: Your chances aren’t good.
Me: I rather fancied playing a baddy.
Nell: They’re not going to cast you as Moriarty, if that’s what you’re thinking,
Me: I know, but what about the Wicked Writer?
Nell: Don’t be silly. You couldn’t be wicked if you tried.
Me: I might surprise you.
Nell: I doubt it.
Me: Talking of Moriarty, someone has to play him. He’s Sherlock’s arch enemy.
Nell: Is that the time already?
Me: You know who it is.
Nell: I’ve been making a list of what you need to pack for Canada.
Me: Stop changing the subject.
Nell: It’s going to be very warm over there at this time of the year.
Me: I know. Chris told me.
Nell: You’ll still need a couple of light cardigans. Have you asked Rupert?
Me: Yes. Knitwear Wolf is organising a selection for me.
Nell: What are you wearing on the flight?
Me: I’ll need to be comfortable. What about a track suit?
Nell: A track suit? You’re the mother of the groom.
Me: Yes. Sorry.
