Me: It’s lovely to see the Royal Corgis having fun on the beach, isn’t it?
Nell: I’m keeping a close eye on them as they aren’t used to the sea and have very short legs.
Me: What’s wrong with short legs? I have short legs and I love swimming in the sea.
Nell: They can easily get caught up in a wave.
Me: Oh, I see. I wouldn’t recommend surfing either.
Nell: Nobody mentioned surfing. Good grief.
Me: It was kind of Knitwear Wolf to take them down to the beach in his sidecar. He had to make several trips to get them all there.
Nell: Rupert doesn’t mind. He wants to help where he can. Fortunately not all of them decided to go.
Me: Yes. Do we know why one of them is still veiled?
Nell: Everyone grieves in their own way.
Me: I suppose so.
Nell: Egg sandwich?
Me: I would love one, thank you.
Nell: Poppy packed a substantial picnic so there’s plenty for everyone. Tea?
Me: Yes, please.
Nell: There will be a cream tea this afternoon with the Welsh Corgi Choir and the Whippets Institute so don’t eat too much.
Me: I expect the Royal Corgis are hungry after all that running around.
Nell: I agree. There’s nothing like sea air to encourage a good appetite.
Me: I wonder what they’ll think of Poppy’s scones.
Nell: They’ll love them. Poppy’s scones are renowned throughout the United Kingdom.
Me: I think you might be exaggerating there.
Nell: I am not. They have the royal seal of approval.
Me: Really?
Nell: Yes, the last time The Queen and I took tea I brought some with me and she found them ‘absolutely delicious’.
Me: Gosh. I didn’t know.
Nell: There’s a lot you don’t know.
Me: Yes. Sorry.
