Poppy is forgiven

Nell: If you are looking for Jonathan Sky he is busy saying his goodbyes to everyone.

Me: Dear boy.

Nell: Harriet is particularly sad.

Me: Yes, those two have always been close.

Nell: Fortunately Jonathan has forgiven Poppy for the Bolognese incident.

Me: Did she forget the Parmesan?

Nell: Not Spaghetti Bolognese. I’m talking about Bolognese Cat.

Me: Jonathan’s favourite stuffed animal? What happened?

Nell: You know Poppy isn’t fond of cats?

Me: Yes. None of you are, to be honest, except for The Cat who is basically family.

Nell: The Cat just happens to be a cat. Anyway, someone crept into Jonathan’s bed and stole Bolognese.

Me: Oh dear.

Nell: And shook her quite hard.

Me: Gosh.

Nell: In the way a terrier kills a rat.

Me: Not a Labrador then?

Nell: Certainly not. We have been known to carry things around that don’t always belong to us but we do it with a soft mouth.

Me: Yes, you do.

Nell: We do not shake the living daylights out of it.

Me: No, you don’t.

Nell: When Bolognese was found a little tired and shaken, questions were asked and a witness came forward placing Poppy at the scene of the crime.

Me: I bet it was Henry.

Nell: I never reveal my sources. When questioned Poppy confessed and said it was a moment of madness which she deeply regrets now.

Me: I’m glad Jonathan has forgiven her.

Nell: Yes. Now, I am unable to accompany you to the station because of luggage and car seats.

Me: Yes.

Nell: They don’t fly until tomorrow morning so just try and enjoy today and don’t think about tomorrow.

Me: I’ll try.

Nell: Kev and I will be waiting at the station for you and they will be back soon.

Me: Yes. Sorry.
