Me: Isn’t the countryside beautiful at this time of year? It’s truly breathtaking.
Nell: Where are the Puppies? I can only see Nigel.
Me: Dave and Harriet went on a really long walk with Kev earlier so we decided to give Nigel a treat and take him on our own.
Nell: Why didn’t you all go together?
Me: Nigel can be a little reactive around other dogs so Kev needs to take him.
Nell: Oh yes. I remember.
Me: Nigel is a rescue dog and he had a harder start to life.
Nell: Like Mutley and Marvin.
Me: Exactly. Although, Nigel is more reactively fearful of others like Marvin.
Nell: Whereas Mutley isn’t afraid of anything like Poppy.
Me: How is Mutley?
Nell: Still asleep. He’ll wake up when he smells the roast beef Poppy’s cooking.
Me: We’re having the same for Sunday lunch.
Nell: It looks like it’s going to be a sunny day.
Me: Yes. Sunday Songs will be at the Recreation Ground today.
Nell: More room for cartwheeling?
Me: Absolutely, the llamas are very excited.
Nell: The llamas are always excited.
Me: True.
Nell: Make sure you wear a hat in the sun.
Me: I will.
Nell: Is Rupert joining you?
Me: Of course. I believe he and Myfanwy are singing a duet.
Nell: My Rupert is singing a duet?
Me: You know he loves singing and Myfanwy’s a soloist in the Welsh Corgi Choir.
Nell: Yes, you’re right. I need to let him go.
Me: You could always have a little sing-song with the other Guardians?
Nell: A little sing-song?
Me: Why not? Mutley could play the piano.
Nell: Poppy only sings sea shanties.
Me: Any particular reason why?
Nell: She thinks she’s a pirate. Do keep up.
Me: Oh yes. Of course she does. Sorry.
