Me: There’s a lot to be said for Talking Things Through With Someone, isn’t there?
Nell: There’s always a lot to be said when you’re around.
Me: Very funny. I mean Sharing your thoughts and worries.
Nell: I know what you mean and you’re right. Are we talking about anything in particular?
Me: I was watching Dave and Kev yesterday evening. Dave obviously had a lot on his mind and I could see how much talking to Kev about it helped him.
Nell: How could you see that?
Me: He gave a great big sigh and lay down and went to sleep.
Nell: It was probably about that Chocolate Labrador.
Me: Who? Harriet?
Nell: No. Not Harriet. I don’t know what her name is but she lives in the village and she’s obsessed with David. Throws herself at him at every opportunity.
Me: Oh dear.
Nell: Quite.
Me: Talking of obsessions did you see Lionel King and Bobby Socks this morning?
Nell: I did not. Ponies prancing around with lions on their backs is not my cup of tea.
Me: It’s not that different to Gladys and the llamas. She sometimes rides on them.
Nell: Enough. Today is the first of the month and you have things to do.
Me: Sharing the link to the website where people can support my writing with a cup of Earl Grey?
Nell: Yes.
Me: It’s https://buymeacoffee.com/saramartin. Thank you so much in advance. Your support means a lot to us all.
Nell: It really does.
Me: Do you think ponies can cartwheel like llamas?
Nell: It is not something I have ever asked myself.
Me: Probably not. Llamas are bendier with slimmer legs.
Nell: I can’t believe we’re having this conversation.
Me: I’d be lost without our conversations, Nell.
Nell: I know.
Me: Sorry.
